Saving electricity and reducing CO2 emissions as a result of investment in District Heating Efficiency Improvement Project (DHEIP). The Chisinau District Heating Efficiency Improvement Project includes several investment packages. 

The most important outputs resulted from these investments are listed below:

Package C1.1 “Construction of the Pumping Station and DH network interconnecting CHP-1 and CHP-2 DH circuits”

• electricity savings of around 3, 376 million kWh/year, worth a total of 6.14 million. Lei/year. 
• reduction of CO2 emissions by about 2300 tons/year. Package C1.2 “Modernization of main Pumping Stations PS-8, PS-12 and PS-13”

Package C1.2 “Modernization of main Pumping Stations PS-8, PS-12 and PS-13”

• electricity savings of about 8.4 million kWh/year, totaling 15 million Lei/year.
• reduction of CO2 emissions by about 5900 tons/year.

Packages C1.1.1, C1.4, C1.7, C1.8, C1.9 “Rehabilitation of priority segments of Chisinau`s distribution network”

• decreasing heat losses by about 2300 Gcal/year; savings of 402, 5 thousand Lei per year.
• reducing the rate of failures and shut-downs to zero.

Package C1.3 ”Reconnection of public institutions to the district heating system, including installation of IHS and reconstruction of related heating networks”

• increasing the thermal load during the cold season 2017-2018 by about 36 Gcal/h and supplying thermal energy at 21507 Gcal/season or 24,131 million Lei/season.

Package C1.6 “Installation of IHS and reconstruction of related heating networks in residential buildings”

• decreasing heat losses by about 1683 Gcal/year; annual savings of MDL 286.6. 
• increase in the thermal load of current hot water in the summer with the supply of the hot water - 47.5 Gcal or 53.2 thousand lei. 
• optimization of hydraulic system in unified circuit CET Source 1.2 during the transitional period with load increase in cogeneration mode at CET Source 1.
